Hey gang!
I had a nice chat with some Jehovah's Witnesses at my house this morning. One of the things that came up was the eternal submission of Jesus to the Father (since they believe God created Jesus and Jesus created the holy spirit). So, I sent an email to a friend to chat through this and he gave me the following link:

Evidently, John Grudem and a growing number of evangelicals, believe that Jesus is eternally subordinate to Father, because that is His role. And they use this view to support their belief in complementarianism and the subordination of women. I haven't heard this before, but it is taking the view we all have roles to its logical conclusion.
It may be helpful for our final paper, but even if not, it certainly is something to process through, especially since we talked about Grudem's book in our discussion time during class.
Peace of Christ,
Alex

Welcome

Welcome to the 1 Timothy Group. This site is designed to facilitate discussion regarding interpretation of 1 Timothy 2:8-15 for the NT 502 course. Think of it as an online version of our louder discussions that happen hours before the paper is due in the library! Post resources, questions, answers, comments, and anything that you think may help others survive.
